Our chicks just came in. One passed away... but these three seem perky. They have identified the water source, but they aren't interested in the food yet.

Anyway, I know one is a Wyandotte. A Blue/Black/Splash Laced Red Wyandotte. But I don't know which is my Lakeshore Egger and which is the Mystery Chick. Any wise eyes out there able to help?

Well, Easter Eggers, and others in that group of colorful non-breed layers are hard bc they are mixed breeds, created for producing a green or blue egg with certain combinations of hens/roosters. So, leg color could be a clue for young chicks when looking at the website. Waiting 2 weeks for more feathers to come in will help as well.

cute chicks.

I looked again, and I believe that chick number one, Hattie, is a Speckled Sussex! Paler chest and tummy. Eye liner. Brown head spots. Back stripes.
