Help in telling what breed my new chicks are

Hello I just picked up two chicks from my grandma who raises them ( she lives in Texas ) and I want to know what breed they are please help my grandma didn't tell me to surprise me I know they are both female

the other looks a bit like my buff orpington chick but yours could be one of a few breeds...

They are most likely a Barred rock and a Production red..... but how did your grandma know they were female? Hm... maybe they're Sex-links.

The black one has a little bit of yellow on her wings with yellow on her throat if that helps
