Help!!! My chick is sick.

After doing research I think one of my chick has Coccidiosis. She started pooping blood on Sunday morning. What do I need to do to heal her? She doesn't do much except to sleep and graze the grass a little bit and her eyes are droopy. I noticed the other chicks eating her poop. Thanks for the help.

You need to get to a feed store or a tractor supply and purchase Corid. It is a medication that will get rid of the coccidia....you put it in their drinking water for 5 - 7 days. You would need to treat them all since they are eating the feces of the sick chick....Good luck! Get there as soon as you can, coccidia is deadly if left untreated.

Until you can get to the store you can put Apple Cider Vinegar in their water, 3/4 tsp per quart, and feed them some Plain yogurt. This will help, but it won't cure the coccidia! Corid is the best choice but if you can't find that, Sulmet is the next best choice....
