Help.. new to incubating

I'm on day 20. I just bumped the incubator looking for signs of hatching. Now the paper towel I put in to stop their feet from.going thru the holes hot wet. My humidity shot up to 75. Did I just screw up? The paper towel will dry right?

Side note bumping it I heard chicks peeping so that makes me feel slightly better as I thought none were

My water was so high as I've been struggling keeping it last 60 during lockdown. Think my house is too cold and too dry.

Finger crossed now I guess. Heard no sounds when removing the paper towel.

as long as the incubator isn't open for hours the chicks will be fine. I use the rubber liners that they sell and cut that to size for the bottom of the incubator. it works great. I know it won't help you this hatch but if you hatch again.

If you heard chirping then they have internally pipped which means that the external pip should be coming tonight or tomorrow!!!!! How exciting and good luck!!!!!!

Next hatch I'm going to use a shelf liner. The rubber kind.

I've hatch 1 hatch so far and 3 others start breaking thru the shell.
