Hello everyone,

I recently had a batch of 5 chicks that are 9 weeks old, and I would appreciate if any of you can help tell if any of these are roosters. I already have 1 adult roo... so I'm not in need of any more. I am hoping (praying) that all of mine are hens...

Regards,
Don

P.S.

The main 2 that I am needing a second opinion on are these 2:

The other three chicks, at least, to me, appear to be obviously female.

Hatching my own chicks has been quite an experience.

These two look like boys to me.
Would you be interested in one of them if that is indeed the case? You... could have one of them for free............ :frow

OR... if you happen to know someone who does....... 😂

Why do I feel like the answer to that is going to be "no" :lau

Actually, I have a customer who always tells me to let him know whenever I have roosters for sale. Are you in central Indiana? Maybe I could give you his number. (You can PM me if you want.)

He pays for them.

Absolutely. I am in Southern Indiana, around the Kentucky border (will reveal where exactly in PM)... but I do travel to Indy at times. Heck, I would make a trip to Indy just to avoid having to... well... resort to 'drastic measures' myself...

Have you tried looking at the flight feathers on the wings? My rule for ambiguous birds is if they are a smooth arc it’s a hen, and if the feathers are longer on the second half furthest away from the body it’s a rooster. It not 100% but I’ve had good luck sexing them that way
