Help with a black Ameraucana 16 weeks

Hello everyone

sad morning on my homestead. I let my girls out this morning and all was fine I went to fill up there water come back and boom
One black bird dead .

is there a random death issue or was it something wrong with the stock ? Idk . I’m 3rd year with chickens and birds and this one was a new one .
I looked the bird over noting on the outside stood out.

remainder of flock is healthy and strong .


Any help is very much appreciated.

I'm sorry about your hen.

Hard to know what happened unless a necropsy is performed. If you still have the body you can refrigerate it and send it to your state lab or if you are up to it, do your own informal investigation.

Hens can die from a number of things, if sudden then something reproductive or organ failure would be my guess, but that's just speculation on my part.
