Hi everyone

There silkie chicks are approximately 12 weeks old hoping for some help with gender. I believe the light splash is a roo the other two I'm unsure on.

Also hoping someone can tell me what colour these adults would be considered.

Thanks so much for the help 😊

Silkies are tough to sex. Best thing to do at this age is to compare combs. Bigger usually means cockerel, smaller usually means pullet.

My guess is that the dark one with the pale neck is a pullet and I think you are right about the splash being a cockerels. Not sure on the blue one.

The adults pictured look like they are probably of mixed colors, maybe buff x partridge.

Hoping you get lots of other opinions!

The first one pictured looks like a possible roo, I’d say the colour is most likely silver birchen.

Second pictured I will need comb photos before I can accurately sex, I’d say the colour is grey.

Third pictured I will need better comb photos for, I’d say the colour is splash.

3rd is a roo.

2nd is looking like a roo.

1st is looking like a roo.

Most Silkie girls at age 12 weeks don’t have combs that big.
