Hello everyone.....we returned from a vacation to find one of our four hens looking like she had some sort of leg problem. After several days of thinking that's what it was, I (think) have determined that she may have had a heat stroke, exhibiting all the classic symptoms of not being able to get her legs under her, listing to the right, etc. No panting but diarrhea and unable to move around much. I have been bathing her under a towel and cool water, have finally got her to start drinking a little water and electrolytes but getting food into her seems to be my biggest problem. Physically, I think she's making progress but am concerned about the not eating much. I've tried blueberries (she loves them), strawberries and she's eaten a little scrambled egg. It's now been a week.....any thoughts on how I would best serve her and get her back to health - an how long that might take? Thanks!
