Hen not laying

Hi all i have a jap bantam that laid eggs for about 5 minth then went broody so we put 2 chicks under her, one lived and is now 6 months old but my hen has only laid 2 eggs since the others in the flock are laying with no problems.has anyone had similar happen?

My Japanese bantam lays only a few dozen eggs a year. She is a serial broody. My guess is that her baby is now weaned (actually, it was probably weaned four and a half months ago) and she is going broody again.

Miss pig was laying everyday and slowed down while broody so its good to know that laying once in a while is normal for her ive been checking her belly daily worrying,she started
my flock so we are extra attentive to her

Is it best to try and make her baby a bit more independent as she lays now but still tries to cuddle under mum at night and theres quite a bit of size difference pig is a jap bantam and bella is a RIR X sussex and possible astrolorpe
