Hen of Rooster

Was just looking to see if someone could help. These are my Sapphire Gems. They are 8 weeks old. I can’t decide. Neither are trying to make rooster sounds like my other rooster so I am confused. Can anyone help?

Yep, they're girls. Sapphire gems are sex links, so it is easy to tell. Males have barring.

Their combs and wattles are pretty red for 8 week old birds, with that I would say they are cockerels on that alone. The feathers on the first and last picture are screaming cockerel. Not sure where they were bought, but if the breeding wasn't 100% it's common for cockerels not to have the barring. Either way, they are beautiful. My cockerels didn't make "roo noises" for a long time, maybe around 16 to 18 weeks if that helps!

My husband says he thinks they are more like 10-12 weeks old. I was told a week old when I got them at Tractor Supply.

Agree with all females, they are sex link birds and the males are not that color that’s the beauty of the hybrid, guaranteed female.

All pullets. They are blue sex links - males would be barred.

Even if they weren't sex linked, there is nothing screaming cockerel.
