Hen plucking feathers from roosters face?

My ameraucana hen keeps plucking feathers from my ameraucana roos face. Is that normal? He just stands there and lets her do it...it almost seems affectionate but his poor face is starting to look pretty homely. They are free range chickens so I know it's not a space issue. Do I need to get her to stop? If so, how?
