Hello:
A predator, perhaps a snake, got into my (I believed!) highly secure run, and killed one hen and injured another. The injured hen, a skittish one who'd been at the bottom of the pecking order already, is recovering nicely but the other three hens are bullying her. When they come near her she makes a throaty click, which I tought was fear, but my partner believes is a warning. Does anyone know what the sound means? She's holding her own much better now, after isolating her and re-introducing her to the flock, so she's not in any great danger from them any more, but still makes this sound when they get too close. Thanks!
