Hen suddenly died today... eggs safe????

Early today we had one of our hens suddenly die (she showed no signs or symptoms of illness). Little bit of background information, we live in an area that has had 5+ inches of rain in the last week. The hens have a 10x10 run and a large wooden coop that they live in. With all of the recent rains, the outside yard has turned very muddy even with us adding stone to the yard. My question is are the eggs that we have collected from the past few days safe to use?

Should be. When a hen is actually sick she stops laying generally. A sudden death is often from a heart problem or something like fatty liver syndrome, and shouldn't affect the eggs.

Eggs are safe, no problem.
