Hen with swollen cheek

I have a hen that likes to fight with the rooster. She got hurt, she is pretty thin and her feathers are sparse. About a week or so ago, we put her in a run by herself while she heals. Yesterday, I noticed she has a swollen cheek. At first I thought she was eating because she looked like a chipmunk gathering nuts for the winter. I checked her again today and it is still swollen. I took some pix but don't see a place to upload. Any ideas?

Hello, I have a hen who looks like that also. Did you ever get any reply? I thought I might start her on antibiotics and separate her from the others. V

Looks like an abcess. I would try to drain it and put her on antibiotics.

I almost lanced it, but she started slowly improving after being given Tetracycline in her water. I didn't know if it was gram negative rods we were fighting (bacteria), but she is better. We gave her special treats. She's slowly fattening back up.
