We have 4 hens that are a year and a half old.
We've been consistantly getting 4 eggs/day until one got broody, then they started molting mildly.
Lately we're lucky to get 1 egg/day...it's been like 3 months of 1-2/day. What's up???? They have layer pellets and plenty of water, safe raised enclosed coop with a fenced open run area, and they free range in a fenced area during the day, with light snacks of veggies or protein or whole oats.
They're named Nugget, Soup, Caccitore, and Pot Pie...and they're starting to look more and more like their names are prophetic! Start laying again, mamas! haha
