Herbs/Plants for chickens

My chickens can't free-range due to hawks. The are on a concrete slab covered in pine shavings. I would like to put some small plants in their coop so they can brouse and was wondering what you would recommend?

A flat pot of mint and a flat pot of grass-seed (or millet) can show to be fast-growing and good ground cover for them to forage.

Try lettuce and other fast-growers as well. Dinosaur kale grows big and can provide some cover.

keep in mind that some chickens are plant-eating machines and they may devour the plants in a single second.

Thank you for your recommendations. I just lost a hen who was prone to crop impaction so I couldn't do this before.
