1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Hey there! I am about a year in with chickens and ducks! I have 6 chickens and 4 ducks. I have 2 cream legbars, 2 bantams (not sure what kind) they came out of an assorted bin, buff orpington, buff brahma, 2 khaki campbell ducks, what i think is a magpie and a fawn runner. fingers crossed! I grew up with livestock, doing 4H and FFA, so I see my flock as furthering my education on poultry and teaching my two kids what I have learned so one day they can use the knowledge. They already love helping collecting eggs, feeding, and watching them in the yard. I ride horses, golf, and I am an Esthetician. I have two toddler a 4 yr old and a 2 yr old, a husband who works cattle, roofs, and works for TXdot. we have a mini aussie name maggie mae and my horse, Whiskey. i’ve had them both since around 2013. my husband didn’t know what he was getting into when it comes to creatures with me. haha. I love them all! I found BYC by searching on egg color genetics and trying to figure out what kind of bantams I have! haha. BYC, from what I read so far is amazing when it comes to furthering my education on poultry. sharing some pictures of the funny farm backyard flock/herd of mine. haha
