(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Have not gotten any yet but plan to.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I'm planning to start with 6.
(3) What breeds do you have?
I like what I hear about Rhode Island Reds, Easter Eggers, and Barred Rocks. Mostly wanting friendly, good laying chickens.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Having eggs to eat. I am not really comfortable with chickens yet, so I think raising them from chicks will help tremendously. I have raised many household pets so I know I will get the hang of it. I don't like spending money and like reusing and repurposing things so I plan to be creative with their housing.
(5) Bonus: How did you find BYC?
We have been watching quite a few videos by Oak_Abode. She mentioned this website and I thought I would take a look. I hope to learn a lot!
