We are new to chickens but my kids really want to do 4h and I really wanted some birds. Lol. Daddy got out voted. My daughters are enjoying the process of learning all about them and their life cycles. We currently have some eggs in the incubator that a friend generously gave us. I can't wait to read and learn more. We are in the middle of the country on 10 acres so they will have loads of room but we have a lot of predators that we get to deal with. Hopefully we can do our best to keep them all safe. Excited to embark on this new adventure as a family.

Hi and
welcome-byc.gif
- glad that you have joined us. I'm sure hubby will come round to the idea of chickens soon enough.

The Learning Centre is a great resource, even for experienced chicken keepers - loads of info on anything chicken. https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center

Joining your state thread will put you in touch with other BYC members in your area, which can be helpful (just type the name of your state in the search box).

All the best

There's a lot of great peeps here! Feel free to ask lots of questions. But most of all, make yourself at home. I'm so glad you decided to join the BYC family. I look forward to seeing you around the run. Chickens are huge ball of feathered personalities. They have a way of wrapping you around their claws. Your daddy will come around. :gig
