My name is Jade I'm 37 years old I'm new to laying duck eggs. I've done my first batch I had a success rate of 50% on Rouens. I do have some crested eggs I'm pretty sure it's only the mom that's crescent. So my question is if it's only one crescent parent can the gene double that way? Or do I need a male and a female crescent to make the gene double?

Hello Jade! Greetings from my coop! :welcome
Crested ducks are quite tricky, If you do end up getting a crested duck double gene, They will most likely die in the shell or some may come out without the crested head, How to get the crested gene to double may not happen with just one parent there's a chance but its small according to the web, But if you want a guaranteed chance you will need two crested ducks (Male and Female)
