Hiding in the coop

I typically have around 20 chicks in a brood. Sometimes when I open the pop door all of the chicks are out on the ground within 15 minutes. My record was when it took into the third day before the first one ventured out. Typically when one goes out they all follow.

I let them go at their own pace. Once they do go out they tend to stay outside a lot. You may need to put them back in at night or they will sleep in the run.

If you read various posts you'll see that some people seem to feel if they don't immediately go out civilization as we know it will be forever changed. I'm more in the school that they will figure it out when they are ready. Why stress them (or me) by forcing them out?
