How can I be the alpha bird?

I'm confused about humans in poultry pecking orders. Are humans who raise the flock the 'top chicken' for being bigger than the rest, or is there something about you the chickens respond to better (such as dogs responding to male humans for being male, having facial hair, or deeper voices)?

I apologize for being confusing; I'm not quite sure how to word this best.

I have all girls, and I am def the alpha because I am bigger than they are, and I think because I pick them up a lot, so they know I can take control. I do not know anything about Roosters, I just know they are agressive because they need to protect their hens
