How do you spell Grey/gray?

I've always spelt it grey

Definitely the other way around in British schools.

My understanding (and I know I'm right!) is that Britons have always spelt (Britons can also spell that 'spelled') the word with an 'e'. For some reason, you folks in the US have decided to spell it differently. Explain yourselves, other wise I may deduct marks!

Here are some more for you:

Colour

Harbour

Favourite

Favour

Humour

This is how we spell those words in Canada too :) Also centre, theatre, etc...

I use the spelling Grey unless I'm referring to hair color in which case I use the spelling Gray.

The british changed a lot of their vocab when the elite started wrighting and talking differently in the late 1700's

That's the preffered US spelling and how my teacher prefers it spelt. She won't take points off if you don't spell it like that, but it is preffered. My mom spells it jewelery. My spell check is telling me Jewellery, but any way is correct.
