How long can a chick have an internal pip without an external?

First of all 1. I am new 2. I am not jumping in to assist now 3. I have read a lot of posts lol


How long can a chick be internally pipped before I decide to help?? Survival of the fittest and all of that I get... not looking for a crucifixion, just want to do what I can for my eggies Thanks!!!

Timeline so far.... possible internal pip on Thursday night, Actual internal pip Friday before 8pm but no chirping, Saturday 2am tiny tiny external pip, 6am larger pencil eraser sized hole, his beak isn't out, but I can see it breathing right inside the shell and I can finally hear chirping!!!. So far so good!
