I'm doing it right now and set the cooker for 30 minutes. I added some onion and celery seed (don't have fresh celery) plus 1.5 cups of water and the entire hen, cut up. Do you think 30 minutes is enough? I'm going to take the meat off the bones and freeze it for chicken and noodles next week.

LOL. I added 10 more minutes. Didn't really soften up but hopefully I can get the meat off the bones. I haven't tried yet-I just put everything in the fridge yesterday. I'll take the meat off and then freeze it and the broth to use later.

I know this is a very old thread but does anyone have an update about times for pressure coking old hens?

I used the 6 quarts electric Instant Pot high pressure and only take about 5-6 minutes and let it sit about 30minutes or until no pressure in the pot. If it take more than 15 minutes, there is something pretty wrong (wrong mode, no pressure, etc...). If your hen around 5 years old, it probably take 8-10 minutes at high pressure.
