How long to wait after separating chickens?

If your asking about seperating for pureness on fertile eggs after a group setting.

3 weeks. Takes about 2 weeks for hen to cycle thru the eggs in her system. So put her with the rooster you want and give them 3 weeks

I always wait 4 weeks on my chickens. . I just thought maybe duck were diferent. . I guess no one knows
