How long to wait before feeding grain exposed to wild birds

I have the opportunity to get a whole bunch of milo and wheat for scratch grain. The problem is it’s out doors in a big pile and I always see doves and pigeons on it.

If I went and got a bunch of it and stored it in my shop how long should I wait to make sure it doesn’t have viruses before I feed it to my chickens

If you feed scratch you probably already have and just don’t know it.

I mean if you already have then what are you worried about? Two weeks maybe? I mean I'm more concerned about storage. I'm free ranging so I can't stop the wild free loaders.

Not at the moment. Because of bird flu. Took out a whole pheasant farm 1 county north a couple weeks ago.

Bird flu took out a whole pheasant farm or a single bird tested and they culled them all?

The flu killed them. It’s one of the nasty strains. I don’t know if there were any survivors to cull or not.
