Hi everyone,

I have read documents that claims Edwards Pheasant could lay 2 clutches within a breeding season.
However, I would like to hear from practical experienced of the breeders.
So, please share your owned experiences with me for learning purpose
Thanks

They lay 4-7 eggs per clutch. If you pull eggs as they lay them, they may lay more then the 7 max per clutch. It is possible for some breeds to lay 3 clutches per season, but most lay 2.I think it's best to let the hens do the hatching, they are much better at it then an incubator.I have 1 male and 3 hens all setting on eggs, and I don't think there is a fertile egg in the pen.I guess I will have to try them as a pair next season.

Hi Toini,
Thanks for sharing.
My own figures is that my Edwards hen laid 21 eggs for the first clutch !! infertile at all ( Note: I pulled out all eggs and set in incubator).
That hen was kept in pair. Maybe the cock did not do his job ?

Let wait to see whether or not the hen could lay any more egg in June after laying such a many egg.
