Nandi's only taken 4 days off since she started laying... And Kaylee and Inara's numbers are both depressed somewhat, Kaylee's more so than Inara's, because Kaylee was off for 28 days for a mini-molt, and Inara was off for 18. If I were to discount the hiatus from their figures, then Kaylee's 54% jumps up to 69%, and Inara's 58% goes up to 68%.

Maybe those that wait a while are like that

Zorra didn't lay until 38 days after Echo. Both are Black Australorps but Zorra is BIG.
She laid her first egg on 1/3 at over 6.5 months old, took off 1/4 and laid straight through 1/20.

Then she went to a more normal (and healthy) 'routine'.

Laura (a Partridge Chantecler) was the last to start, on 1/8. She was a lot "spottier" though. An egg or two every 3 days for awhile, then she picked up the pace after about 3 weeks - 51 eggs in 73 days. That puts her at 70%, just behind Persephone (EE) at 72% and Zorra at 73%.

3/5. Stupid Silkie is broody again!

WORKED GREAT for me!

Only 6 eggs yesterday.

They are all the same age... 43 weeks...  Maybe she will hit her stride this spring... but when one of my SLWs is already laying 10 days in a row before taking a day off, and a couple of my EEs have a past history of laying 5-7 in a row before taking a day off... it's going to be a treadmill for her to beat.  I should run some numbers real quick to figure up their laying percentage... to see who's really outlaying who...  (I can guarantee it's Nandi right now, but her percentage will be skewed by the shorter laying history since she started this spring while most of the others started last fall)   BRB... :D
silver laced wyndot is a go getter lol. I was told there not the best layers, dang your girl is amazing. There very pretty, wishing I had one!

6/7 4 of them were tiny eggs though. I have a chicken that routinely lays eggs around 47-50 grams, and last fall she had a clutch hatch, and those chicks have started laying. Let me weigh one of their eggs. They're so small and cute...they weigh between 30-40 grams...my established mature hens eggs are around 72-73 grams

Running late posting, was tired yesterday, and waited to see of Austra was going to lay an egg.
She did not, so only 2 out of 3.
I did notice, her eggs are getting less elongated though
.
I'm thinking of getting 4 chicks, er pullets, and another mill run, who will 99% surely be a rooster...
will get all dark ones, so possibly get an EE type...

my buff orphington is also broody again, I set some eggs under her today, but they were fertilized and set in the fridgerator , hope they hatch. She really wants to e a mommy again lol.

My understanding is that once refrigerated, the odds of them hatching are quite poor.

30-40 grams is the NORMAL size for my Cubalayas. They are mostly running 36 to 40 with the occasional 42 now.

Friday - 8 eggs, today 7
