how much sunlight do ducks need and how much water do they need

My muscoveys come when I call them. Just being around them they get used to you. The khaki campbells well that another story all together.... Never come when they are called lol.

Kind of like web-footed cats. They want to know what's in it for THEM first

that is up to you.. If you spend a lot of time with them , they will be more likely to.. If you have several ducks, then they tend to follow each other and ignore you.. You might get a single duck out of the bunch to be more friendly than the rest..

It's exactly like that with my ducks.
My mom didn't believe me when I told her you should handle them as much as you can, so now they're a little tame and will follow you around if you call them or for food but don't care to be approached. Only one duck, "my" Blaze(a fat rouen hen), tolerates being touched or walked up to. She doesn't fear me at all.

When ever she feed them she called them by name. They learned to associate their names with food I guess. But they were juveniles fully feather out when she bought them so I was impressed when I saw them later!
