We have 7 days till hatch day.
It is the coldest spring we have ever had- and to prove this, in a state where we dont get snow, like ever- it has actually snowed in some places. All of September was basically gale force winds and angry rain, and October is looking pretty similar unfortunately.
I want to brood the ducklings inside after they hatch away from the scary weather, (also to make them a bit more people friendly) but i cant bring mother in because that will leave our drake all alone and because he's sat by her side every second since she went broody, I would feel it would be mean to separate them. (we only have the two).
My question is how soon after hatching should I take the ducklings from the mother and place them in the brooder?
