How to get Parakeets to Bond with Me?

I adopted a pair of parakeets from a woman who was going off to college about a month ago. The boys are fine and well bonded to each other, but I haven't been able to really get them used to me. Most things I find, are aimed towards baby budgies or one that hasn't bonded already. They're not hand tame, their wings aren't clipped, and I'm afraid that they're just scared and anxious around me. Any tips on getting them to like me?

They don't need you so why should they bond with you. Now if there was limit good food in the cage (pellets) and you was seen as the supplier of spray millet, fresh fruit etc they might look forwards to you visiting. From that point you can work on getting them to eat with your hand in the cage to eating from your hand. This may take a while.
