How to get rid of a family of fox

All my nehbors have had a big chicken massacre!!

I lost 30 pullets in one night!!!!all of them gone. We figured it was a family of foxes since we seen them. We are going to try live trapping them, but if you guys had any more ideas it would be great thanks!! My ducks and chickens appreciate it.

How about trying s great Pyrenees dog?
Or other livestock watching animal. Llama,donkey?

We have a family of fox also. No problems with the dogs and secure fencing. Also best to keep poultry close to activity around the farm.

What do you mean by live trapping? Cages? What are you planning on doing with them if you catch them? 30 birds in one night is a lot even for a family of foxes. Gone? Without a trace? We're there any laying dead or feathers scattered around?

My only solution was to build a secure coop and run, and frustrate the @#$% out of the fox!

Could you post pics of your coop and run so we have a better idea of what you're up against in terms of security? Would greatly help and you'll get much better info/help.

Are you sure it is a fox? Other predators will do this kind of damage - coyotes, bobcats, dogs come to mind. If you have access to one, I would put out a motion sensor camera. I have two, and they provide invaluable information when hunting predators.
