How to tell your ducks gender

How do you tell if your duck is a girl or a boy? I know if there tail is curled it's a boy, but it's too young to tell if it's tail will be curled.

Another method is to notice a duckling's voice. Drakes have a raspy, hoarse sounding peep, while females have a shrill, high-pitched squeak as ducklings and a distinctive "QUACK!" as adults. Most have said that they noted the voice difference at around 9 weeks, while I discovered it right away at 2 days old.

Time will tell. Enjoy your Cayuga baby! I also am raising 3 ducklings right now, 2 of which are Cayugas, the other being a Blue Runner. Let me tell you, I can't think of any duck that is prettier than a Cayuga; mine are getting to be SO beautiful already, and they are only 4 weeks old. Have fun!
