How to treat a used coop

Hello, chicken newbie here.

I bought a pre loved coop. The previous owner gave it a quick clean. There is still dust and poo left behind.

I know I need to clean that, but what I don't know is the best option?

Should I assume the previous flock had lice and mites and preemptively treat for that?
What should I use?

Will my new chickens mind if the coop already smells like chickens?

Thanks!

I would physically clean out the dust, and poop, and hose out with water. Let that dry. I would then spray all surfaces with a GENEROUS AMOUNT, of laundry bleach. Make sure you wear rubber gloves also. Do outdoors of course, and wear a mask. Avoid breathing vapors. Do such so you are upwind, or even provide a fan for yourself. Let that dry, and you are GOOD. Now you have a disinfected, sanitized coop ready for your new flock.
WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and :welcome

:welcome :frow I have used my power washer with a little bleach and let it dry out good. The bleach does eventually break down and it didn't hurt my birds. Most likely there are no pests in the coop if there have been no birds in it for awhile. Good luck and have fun...
