i didn't know that eggs came out big end first!

Yup, big end first

The small pointy end is made by the muscles contracting on that end of the egg to push it out. The shell is still pliable, and gets smooshed, to use the technical term.

That is interesting.

In humans, babies get "coneheads" from the birth canal...and are pointy instead of broad...I'd assumed that eggs were the same way. Live and learn!

I didn't know that either. I have seen my hens lay, but it's so fast the egg is on the ground before I knew what was happening.
One of my hens gets an egg stuck every now and then and I have seen the pointy end sticking out. No wonder it gets stuck, it coming out the wrong way.

She also lays a very round egg compared to the others. Could the egg be spinning around inside?.
