I'm finally letting my Cochin hen become a mother by placing some fertilized eggs under her from someone I found locally. Just a couple questions, but if you have any important advice I would love to hear it.
- How many eggs should I put under if I'd like 2-3 chicks?
- should I put the eggs in any sort of orientation like doing the pointy end down when I place them under her?
- my coop is about a foot off of the ground with a ramp up to the door. Will the chicks have a hard time getting up/down the ramp?

Once again, any advice is greatly appreciated!

If you want 2-3 chicks I would put 5 or so in. It doesn't matter how you put the under her she is going to turn them anyway. The chicks may find the ramp a little hard a first but they'll get in soon or later.

Good luck!
