Black/last one is the only obvious cockerel so farHi all, I know it is probably to early but I just wanted to make sure there are no obvious cockerels? There are 4 chicks, 2 pictures of each. Unless you buy older birds there’s no way to determine a Silkie’s sex unless they are DNA tested which will run you upwards of $100 per bird for a sexed pullet. There are some behaviors that are typical for a male or female chick but these are unreliable at best.I am just wondering if you all can give me some examples of how you tell the differences in boys vs. girls? I have 4 silkies & they all ended up being boys!! All wonderful & beautiful. I really want girls but am scared to buy anymore chicks & risk it. Hopefully I will find some pullets in the future.
1 and 4 look like they could be boys to me.
