Hi, it’s summer and my ladies were being absolutely swarmed by mosquitoes. There were at least a hundred on the ceiling and walls, and I felt terrible for my chickens. So, without thinking whatsoever, I went and got some bug spray and sprayed a bit on the ceiling and walls. The coop is a renovated wooden shopping crate for 5 birds, roughly 6 by 7 feet. I did not spray any directly on the birds. I had the forethought to remove their water before hand, but they were in there while I sprayed. I realized immediately how preposterously stupid I was and came here. The spray was cutter and was 40% deet, how screwed am I and what do I do!!??

It can be a short lived irritant if the droplets are inhaled to mammals, so it it likely the case for poultry. I’ve had to spray my dogs even though it’s not recommended and they sneeze If they get a whiff.
If you haven’t seen any ill effects by now then no worries.
