I need advise

My husband works at a golf course in Maui and a chicken that lives on the course laid about 12 eggs. She has sat on these eggs for 3 months. Nothing is hatching. Should he remove the eggs or continue to let her sit on these eggs day after day? We know nothing about chickens, please advise.

Well, let her sit for another week just in case some of the eggs are still developing and were laid after she started sitting. After that she will probably get up or if not, remove the eggs and maybe candle them to see if they were even fertile. Since it is a feral chicken, it will figure out when to get up.

She has been sat on the eggs for 3 months?!?! Wow, that is one dedicated hen!!

Maybe let her sit on them for another week, and then you could try removing her from the eggs i guess? I dunno though...do you know if the eggs are actually fertile?

If there isnt a wild rooster around also, they are empty eggs. As a mother, its sad to watch...they try so hard!
