They are the same breed just different in color. Egg production is equal in both.

I raise Texas A&Ms and jumbo browns. Both of these are Coturnix Quail just different colors. Their eggs look the same and both are great layers.

Silver, golden, A&M, pharaoh, cinnamon, tuxedos... all are Japanese Coturnix Quail. All lay the same.

The benefit of pharaohs is that you can sex and separate them sooner.
