I have a dutch ( I think) roo that has a very cute and sweet, as well as protective nature. I was playing with him today and put him in a nest box and he started chirping like a hen does with chicks and he bedded down in the nest and would not get out!!! What is up with my roo? ( yes, I am positive he's a roo)

If a bird stays in the nest for 24 hours night and day without going to roost, then you can say they are broody. I bet he was just showing his ladies the best place to lay an egg.

My bantie (i think he's part millie???) was doing that, but when I went to move him he was actuallysitting on an egg!! do they normally do that? He usually goes in the nests and kicks the straw around.

Thats what he was doing and I have a video on my phone but I can't post it. He didn't stay in there but he stayed there for a while.
