Sounds like me at 4 too. I just enlarged my coop and plan on making a bigger run this spring. I thought I would be happy with a few chickens....but I always want more.
We will be sure to make arrangements with our renter beforehand. I don't think we'll have a problem getting him to agree to be the "owner of record" of the four bantams. He won't have to do a thing for them (unless he really wants to), and of course he'll get eggs! He always gives us salmon that he catches with his Native fishing rights.
he doesn't have to be the owner of record. They just have to be on a different properties. You could have chickens scattered all up and down your street, four at a time, if you could get your neighbors to let you do it.
