I'm so confused about what my muscovies are doing!!

Oh OK. Good to know @chickens really ... I didn't remember reading that Winsor and Newton were muscovies..

I was thinking the same thing and then I read the title again...

Muscovies can fly, could they venture out and/or have a male friend visiting them?

I've had these muscovies for a couple of months now. They were half their current size when I got them, I'm figuring they are both full sized now though. At first they'd fly off and visit the neighbours or hang out in the nature reserve out the back of my place but would always come back after a short visit outside the yard. Now they just manage to fly about the yard, never venturing beyond. It's possible another male has met up with them when they used to do their excursions, but it's been a while now, so I'm thinking it's not likely. Anything is possible though!
Our newest baby duck has only been here for a week or so, and is too young to be the daddy. Plus, the big nest was built before he arrived. He hasn't even properly met Winsor yet because she spends 23 hours a day hiding in the nest lol. I think I'll take a torch down this evening and check the eggs by candling. I'll hopefully be able to at least vent newton and see once and for all what sex he/she is.
