Incorporating a new Rooster?

I have a flock of 6 hens and 1 rooseter.My rooster recently suffered an injury to his leg, and We decided that we want to put my rooster out of his pain and butcher him, but I don't want to leave my hens with no rooster. Would incorporating a new rooster raise problems?

It could if you just throw him in there with them. I separate mine from the flock but they can still see each other and i keep them like this for a few days then i let them out to free range together. There will be some pecking but if they can get away it wont be a problem and then they will all get along. Should.
