Do your ears hang low, do they wobble to and fro, can you tie them in a knot, can you tie them in a bow.... can you throw them over your shoulder like a continental soldier, do your ears hang low.

yes, but wrapped up in that poem is a memory of my grandfather who was in the U.S. Navy in WW I working as a cook. His ship was sunk and his Captain went down with the ship and my grandfather would get tears in his eyes when he told the story. If you want to think more about my ancestors read the book, Where the Red Fern Grows. My grandfather loved hounds and was from eastern Oklahoma.
