:hit :hit :hit x 100 literally Every chick due to hatch today and tomorrow (45)have to be removed from the Bator. The current risk to the others can be mitigated by dipping all the other eggs or fumigating the Bator before they start breathing since hatch is stressful they will ahead ms immediately.
The experts fron NC vet school and research facility specializung in poultry have said the locals are wrong. The odds are not small that they have mycoplasma synoviae spread vertically, but will have it worse and spread it Horizontally.
Why did no one else I talked to sooner. Now these fully developed chicks have to be killed, and we have to fumigate the Bator or clean with bleach. She is checking with the main research guy on mycoplasma and will get back to us on the best hope for our other eggs. We will also have to keep them separate until they can be tested.
I need a good guy or someone to help me cull :( :hit

Do you still have live birds outside?
If so any new chicks you hatch will also almost certainly be exposed to it from your clothes/skin/hair.

Thanks guys. The eggs have been dipped in a warm bleach water solution let sit a minute and wiped each with a separate paper towel. Cabinet Bator sprayed with bleach solution egg trays replaced, and eggs returned. Now we just have to hope it does not reduce the hatch too much. My vet will cull my favorite and the two roosters. I just don't want to.
Hope everyone else is having a good day. I have had enough, and am headed out to escape on my horse for a while.

I will try to catch up later.
If I get it again which is highly likely unless I do caged birds without exposure to rodents and wild birds since so many carry it here not to mention people and poultry I just won't test. My vet says cull the ones with big symptoms, band sneezers, and breed the ones that don't show symptoms.
For anyone who gets outside eggs, and
@BantyChooks suggested for any eggs from your birds dip in warm bleach water (1/4 of suggested kitchen mix listed on bottle) let sit for a minute and wipe each egg with a separate paper towel piece.
When I here from the expert on mycoplasma research at NC vet, I will pass on what I learn.

I have no words for how terrible that is...
I hope you win the MPC giveaway and are able to start replenishing your flock.

Thanks... I will try that. Hopefully it will improve hatch rate for the EHAL.

Anyone know how much MG reduces hatch rates & fertility? To nothing, or just impacts slightly?
Thanks for sharing, I greatly appriciate it.
I've caught several possums in a Hav-A-Heart trap, if that helps at all

Hav-A-Heart is what I caught the skunks in... I like it.
