Thanks Tricia, he seems to be good. We let him out during the day. He does roost on our picnic table & wanders around our property. I do keep an eye on him considering he's alone. We've been searching for hens nearby, seems everyone has day old chicks. Thank you for your thoughtful words.

I find roosters to be more like dogs - they have a lot of depth and can be with humans alone as long as they have companionship.
