I’m new and discovered Backyard Chickens when trying to figure out why my 17 week old pullets won’t use the dust bath. They don’t dust bathe at all, for that matter. I grew up on a farm and ranch in patches. I am now 53 and haven’t had livestock since I was 29 yr old. When I was young, chickens weren’t the way they are now. Fancy and spoiled. I am researching as much as I can to learn how this is done. I admit, it’s fun and a lot of work. I did tons of research but there’s too much conflicting info. On YouTube and the books alike. So I’m trying to find my medium according to my region and lifestyle. I’ve been through a lot since receiving my day old chicks Oct 17, 2022. Im sure I’ll have a lot more bumps until I experience it all. Making mistakes has a cost that’s too high, I’ve learned that the hard way already.
Im glad to be here, I hope I can fix my birds bath so they’ll bathe.
Thank you
