Hi everyone! My name is Robin and I'm happy to be here. I'm a new chicken owner looking for guidance and friendly discussion regarding these animals I love so much!
Onto the questions:
1-Are you new to chickens? When did you get chickens?
Yes! I am VERY new to chicken ownership, although I've wanted them for ages I am still getting used to having them. I acquired my first chicks on June 21st 2023.
2-How many chickens do you own?
I am the proud owner of four chickens.
3-What breeds do you have?
I currently have one wellsummer, one speckled sussex and two light brahmas.
4-What is your favorite part of raising backyard chickens?
Definitely the companionship they provide. My gals are still quite young, but even now they have extremely unique personnalities that truly makes owning them very entertaining. It's like watching Mean Girls with how much drama they get to.
5-What are some of your other hobbies?
I am a writer and artist in my free time as well as an animal enthusiast. I take care of many creatures such as ants, isopods, spiders and my bearded dragon.
6-Tell us about your family, other pets, occupations, etc...
I live at my parents' (duh) and have two siblings, one younger and one older. I have a beagle named Dollie, a bearded dragon named Burrito and many other small creatures. I am French but living in America.
7-I heard of this site from personnal research. Since I've had my chicks, I've had to look up many things to make sure I was doing things right and this website always provided; so I thought I might as well check it out!
